1K CHALLENGE

The 1K Challenge: Race to Raise $1000 for Dads is our effort to kick start our scholarship funds. The first fund we will maintain, dubbed "20 for 20," will consist of $20,000 in scholarship monies for four individuals, black males, who are high-school-aged and who have already become fathers. The funds will help those going to college or a trade school.

 

In addition to providing these individuals with financial assistance toward their education, we will also stay by their sides until they graduate to not only help assure academic success, but also to ensure successful rearing of their children. We will work to mentor them and help them be the best students and fathers they can possibly be. 

 

The reason it's called the "Challenge" is because one of our board members has donated $100 to our efforts and has subsequently challenged a minimum of 9 people to match his efforts.
